We are honoring Veronica's entry into adulthood as she is called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah! The term "Bar Mitzvah" (for boys) and "Bat Mitzvah" (for girls) literally translates to "children of the commandment."

We are honoring Veronica's entry into adulthood as she is called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah! The term "Bar Mitzvah" (for boys) and "Bat Mitzvah" (for girls) literally translates to "children of the commandment."
Coming of Age: Becoming a B’nei Mitzvah marks the age at which Jewish children are considered morally and ethically responsible for their own actions and are considered an adult by Jewish law. This rite of passage happens when a Jewish child turns thirteen. As an adult they are able to lead the services in prayer, and recite or sing passages from the Torah in Hebrew and interpret the passages in their own words.
Veronica has has been studying Hebrew, attending services, learning about the Bible and Jewish literature, mastering Torah cantillation and contributing to her community through volunteering.
